Disneyland

I created a slideshow of our day at Disneyland. I did not take as many pictures as I had hoped for but we still had a good time.

Camden loved the rides, this was the first time he was excited to go on the rides, and he loved them.

I tried my hardest to get Lindsey to try some new rides, but she wouldn't do it. She isnt crazy about the dark rides, she won't go on Space Mountain, or the Matterhorn (even though that use to be one of her favorites) but the girl loves Pirates, The Haunted Mansion, Splash Mtn, and Thunder Mtn. If only she would try the other rides I am sure she would love them.

I am off to bed it has been a long and exhausting, but fun day!!

Follow up to the last post

I got home today from work, looked at my 2 beautiful children and realized just how lucky I am. So I have had a pretty crappy week, but I have the 2 most awesome kids ever! Not to mention a pretty awesome husband who was completely understanding of me ripping the front bumper off of his car. Yes, I am pretty darn lucky!!

Marty is out tonight playing poker with the guys from work so the kids and I picked up some food and enjoyed our evening. Which consisted of us eating dinner while watching cartoon network (love that my kiddos like the Jetsons), taking baths, finishing homework, then a good old round of my mommy, my sissie, my Camden where the boy tackles all of us, followed by some sibling wrestling, and Lindsey singing for us. I love my life!!!

Update on the kids.......

Lindsey - She is doing great in school! We got her progress report and it was nothing but improvement. This time last year we were struggling, (really struggling), and now this year she has completely done a 180 and everything is just clicking. As a parent there is nothing better then seeing your child getting "it". We have also received emails from her teacher saying what a great job she is doing. Lindsey loves her DS, she usually goes in spurts playing it, but since Christmas she has been pretty much glued to it when we allow it. Well we went to the doctor the other day and we were talking to her, and the doctor was letting Linds draw a picture. The girl draws a picture of her in her bed (you knew it was night time because she drew stars and a moon) playing her DS, and then next to her bed she wrote "sneaky". So we get done talking to her doctor, look at her drawing and ask her "Lindsey do you sneak your DS at night?" She says no I was just playing with you, but then starts laughing. So our little 7 year old has been sneaking her DS at night. We now put it in our room so we make sure she can't sneak it. Silly girlie!!

Camden, ahh really what can I say about this kid. He is so full of energy and love, and so so ornery. Last week when I went to pick him up from school, his teacher pulls me aside and says "we just need you to know that Camden has started hitting, kicking, and pushing kids." Now when he does this at home he knows he can't do it, and he will get a time out. At school though they don't do time outs, it is all about positive reinforcement and redirection. So we have been battling that for a little while. He is just a very possive little guy and likes his things. He likes his things so much in fact that he says "mine" for everything, and his teachers at school call him the birds from Finding Nemo. Everyone I have talked to says this is typical 2 year old behavior but wow this is new to us. Lindsey was complete opposite of this, never hitting or kicking anyone. To this day I dont think she has ever hurt anyone to be mean. But the boy on the other hand, if he doesn't like something, you will know. I just hope this phase ends sooner rather then later! 2 more things the boy has done this week. We went to Subway the other day, Marty and I are ordering our food, we look down at Camden and he has pulled his pants down! Yes in the middle of Subway the boy just drops his pants as if it is nothing, and laughs. We have been working on potty training on and off. Some days he is in to it some days not. Well tonight he decides he wants to pee on the potty while he is in the tub. So I get him out of the tub and sit him on his potty. He then stands up, grabs himself and grunts as he aims for the potty. Then he puts his hands behinds his back, sticks his tummy out, and aims some more. Thankfully he never went, imagine that mess.

We are heading to Disneyland this weekend. Linds doesn't know we are going so it is going to be a big surprise for her. And I think just what I will need to erase this week! Disneyland through your childs eyes is the best!!! :)
Pictures from this weekend and some videos from tonight............

Sorry for such a long post, but it has been awhile since I posted. Hopefully I will get back on track and start posting more then once a week. :)

Can it get any worse??

I know this blog is suppose to be about my kids, and what cute and clever things they say and do but really I just have to vent for a minute.

Can the week get any worse?? Seriously I am done, stick a fork in me!

It is only Thursday, and if I could just erase this week 2010 I would be more then happy to.

Monday - I had to drive to Rosemead for a meeting with the CEO of our bank. I am given unrealistic time frames to complete my work, and when I let them know this I am pretty much told to deal with it. Driving home I am riding in the back seat of my bosses car, and his stop and go driving make me want to hurl. I get in my car finally and start heading for home, Linds has to be at gymnastics at 5:00, it is 4:10 when I leave the park and ride place. I am crusing along, and bam see the cop get on his motorcycle, see the lights before I am even past him, and just pull over. Yup I got a freaking speeding ticket! My first one ever!!!

Wednesday - Work decides at 2:00 (mind you I leave work at 4:00) that they want 2 borrowers to come in and sign loan documents first thing in the morning. Now they have had my files and my documents since the 14th and 15th of this month. But they decide to tell me that they want changes to the documents at the last freaking minute and want me to organize a closing for these borrowers. I am rushing to get stuff done. I realize there is no way I will get Camden on time, so I have to go and pick him up and bring him back to the office. Thankfully our neighbors kept Lindsey late for me. I didnt get out of work until 5:45 yesterday, not a good way to end the day!

Thursday - Today everything is going great, I was on time, even a little early. I got to back out of the garage and hear a smashing sound of metal. Oh crap Martys front bumper is totally hanging off his car. I pick up his bumper shove it back on his car (where it actually stayed), and honest to goodness actually think hmm can I make it look like I didnt do this?? Yeah no such luck. There is no damage to my car, thankfully. I am just trying to figure out how not even going 5mph I could have ripped his entire bumper of the car. I am hoping that it isnt going to be to expensive to fix it, but it has to be fixed there is no other choice but to fix the darn thing.
Thankfully Marty was super nice about it and didn't get mad at me, at least on the phone he didn't get mad at me. Not sure what he said to the people at work........

So here now I sit thinking when is it going to get better?? I don't think it can get much worse, or maybe I shouldn't say that!

MY MONEY, KISSES, AND A FIT ALL IN ONE POST

These are the videos I took last night of Camden. Still not feeling 100% so sorry there are still no pictures. :(

I wanted to capture Camden saying "my money", and kissing his wall.

This video is a little long but so worth it in my opinion.......

I probably shouldnt post him throwing a fit but really who can't relate to this.

First he got mad about his couch, and then got mad at me for taping him.

Where have I been?!?!!

So I missed pretty much an entire week of posting, which stinks big time. But in my defense I got some horrible bug that made my head feel like it was going to explode, my throat feel like it was on fire, and my nose running so much I felt like I was a faucet. Last night I was taking video of Camden and Lindsey came in and said her ear was bothering her, I ended up taking her to Urgent Care last night waited 2 hours got the meds, and finally got home abou 9:00. So my intentions really were to post last night but then well life got in the way.

I have no pictures to post today, but I do have a cute story about Camden.

The other morning Marty gets him out of his bed and changes him. Camden reaches for his bank, and says My Money!! He then walks around the house yelling My Money!!

That is all for today, maybe tonight depending on how everything goes I will post some pictures.

Bedtime

Tonight as we were putting the boy to bed he came up with a new stall tactic.

Normally he has to give everyone including Max the dog a kiss goodnight. He says kisses daddy, kisses mommy, kisses sissie, and does this over and over again until we put him in his bed. Tonight this was the conversation:

Camden: Kisses daddy, kisses mommy, kisses sissie.
Me: Ok Camden into bed you go.
Camden: Cookie night night
Me: No Camden you cant have cookies
Camden: No momma, cookie night night, melmo (Elmo) night night
Me: You want to give Cookie Monster and Elmo a kiss goodnight?
Camden: Yes

He then proceeded to spend 5 minutes talking to Cookie Monster and Elmo that are painted on his wall. He gave them kisses, (yes he kissed the wall) and then talked about cookies with them. Then when he was finished he came over and said "night night mommy."

I guess not only do we have to kiss everyone in the house goodnight, but now we kiss walls too!

Sorry no pictures again tonight, I did get some video of Lindsey I will upload tomorrow. I am just to tired, and American Idol starts soon. :)

THE MEATBALL IS IN THE SAUCE

No pictures today but had to post what Lindsey said tonight.

I was running Camden some bath water tonight and asked Marty to put Camden in the water while I got pj's ready. The next thing I heard is Lindsey saying....

"Mommy, the meatball is in the sauce, I repeat the meatball is in the sauce."

Gotta love that girlie!!!

Both kids are in bed early tonight. Lindsey goes back to school after having 24 days off of school. I am ready for her to go back so we can get back to more of a routine, but at the same time I really did enjoy not having to make lunches, not worrying if homework was done, etc. Only 5 more months of school left, with 2 weeks off for spring break.

January 8th - Park Day

WARNING VENT ABOUT THE PARK BELOW........
The kids and I ventured over to the park today after work. Can people not control their kids? Just because they are at the park and entertaining themselves does not mean you have the right to sit on your butt and do nothing. Kids were running up the slide while the boy was trying to go down, digging underneath the walkways, blocking the stairs, etc. I asked a kid to move so the boy could slide down the slide and the kid just looked at me. This was the conversation:

Me: Excuse me can you please move off the slide so my son can go down?
Kid: Blank look
Me: hmmm yeah can you move now please?
Kid: Blank look
Me: Camden just go down and if you happen to push him, well he wouldn't move so it's ok.
Kid: Blank look
Yes I know probably shouldn't be telling my 2 year old to push someone out of the way but really, the kid just stared at me. What would you have done?

I didn't get to many pictures of the girl today, she was to busy to have her picture taken. Tomorrow we are going down to Mamaw and Papas house and we are going to go to the park again. Hopefully the kids are nicer, and the girl won't run when she sees the camera.
The girl can be sweet to the boy when she wants to.
They really do love eachother.
She actually asked me to take her picture here.

Already Failed........ (January 1st - January 4th)

The 1st came and went and as I was lying in bed getting ready to sleep I realized I never posted my pictures. One day in and I had already failed my goal of documenting 2010 for my kids. I was determined to make the 2nd and post 2 pictures to make up for the 1st, but I failed again. Honestly on the 3rd I just didn’t care. I had it in my head I failed, how stupid would it be to start on the 3rd so I just didn’t do it. Then yesterday I come into work and I get an email from the momma saying do you know it is the 3rd and you have no pictures up. (I had to correct her and say actually it is the 4th and I have no pictures up but that isn’t the point) She made me realize I need to make it a priority to post pictures. And she is correct (as usual). Not only is it for my kids but it is for me. Yes I have pictures from here and there of my kids through out their lives but I can’t tell you exactly what we were doing at the time the picture was taken. Or what their favorite thing was when the picture was taken. So for myself and for my kids I am going to document 2010 for them just a little differently then I had originally planned.

I am going to post at least once a week, hopefully more! Along with the pictures I am committed to writing what the girl and the boy are up to and what we did since the last time I posted. This way I won’t feel guilty if I don’t get a post up but I will still be able to look back on 2010 and tell you about our lives.

We started off the 1st by getting our house back in shape. The inside was pretty much dechristmastized, but the outside still looked like Christmas was going on. Plus we needed to go through toys, clothes, and just make our house ready for a new year. Marty spent the day outside taking down all the decorations and doing yard work, Lindsey played with the neighbors all day, and Camden and I hung out inside cleaning bedrooms and napping. We went to the neighbors and watched the Hangover, and then Delia came and spent the night with us.

The 2nd was a big day in our house the girl finally lost her tooth. This tooth has been loose forever, and she refused to pull it out. To give you an idea of how loose the tooth was; she took a bite of her peanut butter sandwich and it fell out. She lost her other front tooth the week before so the girl is missing her 2 front teeth. She is adorable! Delia and Lindsey spent the day at our house all morning playing and then they went over to Delia’s house to play. Marty and I hung out around the house all day getting little stuff done and playing with the boy. We took the boy out to Island’s to eat and went grocery shopping. We got home, picked up the girl from the neighbors and got the boy ready for bed. Lindsey and then snuggled in bed and watched Annie together.

We went to church (our other New Years Resolution) on the 3rd and also we were able to catch up with some friends we hadn’t seen in almost a year. This was the first time the boy didn’t cry the entire time in the nursery. He did cry when we dropped him off but when I went to pick him up he was having a blast playing. Next week he is going to go to the 2 year old classroom (we shall see how that goes). We ended up going to our friends’ house for a bbq and to watch some football. The girl had a blast playing with Alisha, and the boy ran all over their house. The boy refused to nap all day, and actually fell asleep on the way home (10 minute drive). The girl and I then ran to Toys R Us, to see if they had any Zhu Zhu Pets in stock. (The boy dropped the one she got from Santa and it broke) While we were at Toys R Us, the girl starts asking me these questions:

What Toys R Us did you go shopping with, with Meemee (my sister) when you went shopping after Thanksgiving?

If you went to that Toys R Us then how do you know were the hamsters are in this Toys R Us?

If you didn’t know Santa was going to bring me a hamster then why did you buy me the hamster house?

Why did daddy change from a white Xbox controller to a black one?

These were just some of the questions she was asking me. Hmmmm I think we have a very observant girlie on our hands.

Yesterday the 4th it was back to work for me and back to school for the boy. The boy is now saying Anci (one of his teachers name is Ms. Nanci) so any mention of school and we get Anci Anci Anci over and over again. The girl had her first experience of being home with just Deanna (11) and Delia (7). Daysis was going to lunch with a friend and asked if the girl could come over and stay with Deanna and Delia. Since Marty was home (right across the street) we said she could go. She said she had a blast, and they just watched TV and ate lunch while Daysis was gone. I went and picked up the boy from school and as soon as he sees the car he is running around crazy saying mommy mommy mommy. Then as soon as he sees me he says bye friends over and over again until we are out of the parking lot. The girl went with the neighbors to Corona, so we had a quiet night at home with the boy.

Here is a picture of the girl and the boy.

The girl is showing off her toothless smile, and the boy is just being the boy.
