Already Failed........ (January 1st - January 4th)

The 1st came and went and as I was lying in bed getting ready to sleep I realized I never posted my pictures. One day in and I had already failed my goal of documenting 2010 for my kids. I was determined to make the 2nd and post 2 pictures to make up for the 1st, but I failed again. Honestly on the 3rd I just didn’t care. I had it in my head I failed, how stupid would it be to start on the 3rd so I just didn’t do it. Then yesterday I come into work and I get an email from the momma saying do you know it is the 3rd and you have no pictures up. (I had to correct her and say actually it is the 4th and I have no pictures up but that isn’t the point) She made me realize I need to make it a priority to post pictures. And she is correct (as usual). Not only is it for my kids but it is for me. Yes I have pictures from here and there of my kids through out their lives but I can’t tell you exactly what we were doing at the time the picture was taken. Or what their favorite thing was when the picture was taken. So for myself and for my kids I am going to document 2010 for them just a little differently then I had originally planned.

I am going to post at least once a week, hopefully more! Along with the pictures I am committed to writing what the girl and the boy are up to and what we did since the last time I posted. This way I won’t feel guilty if I don’t get a post up but I will still be able to look back on 2010 and tell you about our lives.

We started off the 1st by getting our house back in shape. The inside was pretty much dechristmastized, but the outside still looked like Christmas was going on. Plus we needed to go through toys, clothes, and just make our house ready for a new year. Marty spent the day outside taking down all the decorations and doing yard work, Lindsey played with the neighbors all day, and Camden and I hung out inside cleaning bedrooms and napping. We went to the neighbors and watched the Hangover, and then Delia came and spent the night with us.

The 2nd was a big day in our house the girl finally lost her tooth. This tooth has been loose forever, and she refused to pull it out. To give you an idea of how loose the tooth was; she took a bite of her peanut butter sandwich and it fell out. She lost her other front tooth the week before so the girl is missing her 2 front teeth. She is adorable! Delia and Lindsey spent the day at our house all morning playing and then they went over to Delia’s house to play. Marty and I hung out around the house all day getting little stuff done and playing with the boy. We took the boy out to Island’s to eat and went grocery shopping. We got home, picked up the girl from the neighbors and got the boy ready for bed. Lindsey and then snuggled in bed and watched Annie together.

We went to church (our other New Years Resolution) on the 3rd and also we were able to catch up with some friends we hadn’t seen in almost a year. This was the first time the boy didn’t cry the entire time in the nursery. He did cry when we dropped him off but when I went to pick him up he was having a blast playing. Next week he is going to go to the 2 year old classroom (we shall see how that goes). We ended up going to our friends’ house for a bbq and to watch some football. The girl had a blast playing with Alisha, and the boy ran all over their house. The boy refused to nap all day, and actually fell asleep on the way home (10 minute drive). The girl and I then ran to Toys R Us, to see if they had any Zhu Zhu Pets in stock. (The boy dropped the one she got from Santa and it broke) While we were at Toys R Us, the girl starts asking me these questions:

What Toys R Us did you go shopping with, with Meemee (my sister) when you went shopping after Thanksgiving?

If you went to that Toys R Us then how do you know were the hamsters are in this Toys R Us?

If you didn’t know Santa was going to bring me a hamster then why did you buy me the hamster house?

Why did daddy change from a white Xbox controller to a black one?

These were just some of the questions she was asking me. Hmmmm I think we have a very observant girlie on our hands.

Yesterday the 4th it was back to work for me and back to school for the boy. The boy is now saying Anci (one of his teachers name is Ms. Nanci) so any mention of school and we get Anci Anci Anci over and over again. The girl had her first experience of being home with just Deanna (11) and Delia (7). Daysis was going to lunch with a friend and asked if the girl could come over and stay with Deanna and Delia. Since Marty was home (right across the street) we said she could go. She said she had a blast, and they just watched TV and ate lunch while Daysis was gone. I went and picked up the boy from school and as soon as he sees the car he is running around crazy saying mommy mommy mommy. Then as soon as he sees me he says bye friends over and over again until we are out of the parking lot. The girl went with the neighbors to Corona, so we had a quiet night at home with the boy.

Here is a picture of the girl and the boy.

The girl is showing off her toothless smile, and the boy is just being the boy.
